Tuesday 23rd June - walks **** – Landguard Nature Reserve and Felixstowe prom with Maeva – sunny and very hot!

Walk 1 – Landguard Nature Reserve.

Friday being Maeva day and it was going to be very hot again, in fact records were broken with temperatures in Suffolk exceeding 37 degrees Mag and I decided to get up early and drive down to Landguard for a walk with our flask! Parking at 6.30 we set off for a circuit around the Nature Reserve and it was very hot already, we quickly spotted linnets and rabbits before reaching the small pier on the Orwell. We made it to the spot on the old pier on the Orwell river mouth where we had a cuppa with a chocolate bar, very relaxing :) We then walked back along the best beach in Felixstowe with a few more people out and about, I took some nice pics and got one chosen as a BBC Editors pick but sadly it did not make it onto the telly :( Then home to sort out my pics, breakfast in the back garden before Mag headed over to pic up Maeva.

Walk 2 – down to Felixstowe seafront for chips on the pier with Maeva, so hot :(

Maeva arrived at 11 looking lovely with her funky headband on, being so hot we started off with some painting followed by some water fun in the garden, Mag had frozen loads of small toys in a block of ice which Maeva loved helping to melt! We then walked down to a very busy but extremely hot Felixstowe seafront and had chips in the shaded area on the pier which was very pleasant, a pic I took here was once again chosen as a Editors Pick but this one made it onto Look East, its been a good month for telly pics! It was lovely sitting on the slightly cooler pier eating chips watching the gulls fly past against the bluest of skys but it was time to leave and the walk along the prom to the pram walk was not pleasant way too crowded and hot for us. We headed up into town to buy some shorts for me and shoes for Mag in Peacocks which seemed to excite Maeva we treated her to a nice cat night set. Maeva then wanted the loo so I left Mag to pay and headed to the quiet library. We had fun there reading and doing colouring before heading for home for a cuppa and biscuit before more water fun in the shady back garden before taking her home around 5, no Peppa Pig today, so another top Maeva Friday despite the heat!
